Monomax®
B. Braun's absorbable Monomax® suture is ultra-long term tear-resistant, elastic, monofilament and made of poly-4-hydroxybutyrate. This suture material has been specially developed for surgical procedures where long-term wound support is required (more than 3 months) and where abdominal closure requires special elasticity. Monomax® offers a longer tear strength than conventional suture materials, which ensures maximum functionality.

It physically holds the abdominal wall for six months and is therefore ideally suited to absorb the tension of the fascia after laparotomy closure. Due to its outstanding properties, Monomax® is an excellent choice for abdominal wall closure.
